But I do get the idea how "force" is just a label to a "thing" that we demand to be the cause of the change of velocity. Sometimes we have to invent these "things" to fit the framework of causes and consequences - like the Coriolis force pops out of thin air to explain the curved trajectory of a ball as observed from a merry-go-round.
