So, since the Californian DMV did not have time to read the letter I sent them, with my SC registration etc, they bombed me with letters about "delinquent registration fee", etc, and I called them, and they gave me the address where to send my SC car registration, images of them. Fine.
Then I discovered that I don't have those registration cards. Weird. So I ordered copies from SC DMV, it costs $1 each.
Now, when I returned from France, and when James brought me a pile of mails, I was opening them one by one.
SC DMV sent me two letters with registrations. Ok, I got them. Planned to scan them to send to the email address.
But there were also two more letters from DMV, saying that our vehicle registrations are suspended since 04/12, because the DMV does not have my insurance info, and I have to send it to them, in the provided envelopes, together with $14 checks to restore the registration.
Weird, I thought, South Carolina lost my insurance information and wants $28 for it.
An especially warming thought was about me being (legally) unable to go shopping; good that I had enough food in my fridge probably for a couple of months of autonomous life.
Ok, so I printed all that information, brought two checks, and started reading the instructions.
Oops. Fuck. It was from Californian DMV again. They are still trying to get me. It's them that want my insurance information. For the cars that are now registered in South Carolina, which fact I've been trying to convey to their slow Californian minds (I'm talking about the native Californians).
Ok, ok. Sent them an email with the SC registration cards, and that's it. Fuck them all. Police state. Have you seen in any other state as much road police as in California? Especially San Mateo County, which feeds on drivers. Eating the rich.
